You read the business books. They all say the same things. You need to “network everywhere.” You need to “hustle 24/7.” You need to “fake it till you make it.”
So you try it. You go to the mixers. You force the small talk. You grind for twelve hours a day.
And you burn out in a week. You feel like a failure because you can’t keep up with the “standard” advice.
I have some good news for you. You aren’t a failure. You are just using a manual written for a different operating system.
Most business advice is written for Neurotypicals, people with average attention spans, average sensory processing, and high social tolerance. If you have a brain that thinks deeply, feels intensely, or spots patterns others miss, that advice isn’t just useless. It is dangerous.
The Myth of the Charismatic CEO
We have this idea that a CEO must be a loud, charismatic generalist. We think they need to be a social butterfly who loves open-plan offices and endless meetings.
But the most disruptive founders in history weren’t social butterflies. They were Specialists.
Think of Temple Grandin or Bram Cohen (the creator of BitTorrent). They didn’t win because they were good at “shaking hands.” They won because they had the Neurodiversity Advantage.
- Hyperfocus: While the hustlers are multitasking (and doing everything poorly), the autistic brain can lock onto a single problem for twelve hours and solve it.
- Pattern Recognition: You see inefficiencies that “normal” people ignore because their brains filter out the details.
- Honesty: In a world of sales fluff, directness builds massive trust.
Design for the Dip, Not the Grind
The biggest mistake we make is trying to maintain steady, robot-like output from 9-to-5.
This is a factory model, not a brain model.
Your brain works in sprints (Hyperfocus) and crashes (Recovery).
Instead of fighting the crash with caffeine and shame, you need to schedule it. This is called Energy Cartography.
If you work with your rhythm, you can get eight hours of work done in three hours of deep flow. If you fight it, you get zero hours done in eight hours of misery.
The Manual for Your Brain
I got tired of reading business books that told me to fix my personality. So I wrote a book about how to fix the business model instead.
It is called The Autistic Entrepreneur: How to Build a Business That Works for Your Brain.
This isn’t just for people with a diagnosis. It is for anyone who feels like the standard “hustle culture” is a scam.
Inside, we cover:
- How to network without masking (fake smiling until you die).
- How to build a Sensory Sanctuary workspace that actually protects your focus.
- How to use Energy Budgeting so you don’t burn out.
The Red Flag Audit
You don’t need to change who you are. You need to double down on it.
Stop forcing yourself into the mold today. Check out the book. It includes a Red Flag checklist to see if your current business model is actually designed to kill your productivity.
Your brain isn’t broken. The blueprint was. Let’s build a new one.
